Cruising alone doesn't have to be a costly or daunting experience. With an increasing number of single travellers, a cruise holiday is the perfect way to discover the world in a safe, friendly environment. It's also a great way to meet new friends and like-minded people too. Most Cruise lines provide activities early on in the cruise to welcome single travellers, such as meet and greet parties, gentleman dance hosts, and dedicated dining tables, giving you the chance to interact with others if you wish.

On board you'll find a range of social events are organised both during the daytime and evenings, but for those of you who'd prefer to relax and spend a little 'me' time, there's always a of choice of quiet areas to choose from.
You'll find that few ships have single cabins, but most ships offer a number of twin cabins for sole occupancy, usually at a supplement, although some itineraries do offer a nil supplement. We suggest you book early to take advantage of such offers as these prove very popular. A more cost-effective solution is to 'share' a cabin. This 'cabin share' programme matches you with a same-sex room companion at no extra supplement.
Evening dining is also an excellent time to get to know your fellow passengers, as on most ships you'll be seated with other solo travellers, so while you indulge in sumptuous cuisine, you can enjoy the company of your new travelling companions.

Organised shore excursions are also a safe and secure way to explore new destinations in a small group, with a professional guide. You can, however, feel free to take off and make your own adventures whilst in port if you'd prefer.
Many of the larger, more modern cruise lines, such as Princess and Royal Caribbean, offer a variety of fun activities onboard for you to be involved with. But for the more traditional cruise experience, other cruise lines, for example Fred Olsen, offer dance hosts for the ladies, or quizzes and shows.
