Regent Seven Seas Voyager ship visit

Seven Seas Voyager

Nine of our staff members were invited to travel to the Port of Liverpool on Sunday 9 September 2007, to board Regent Seven Seas Voyager for the day. The purpose of this visit was to enable our Sales Consultants to personally experience the ship’s facilities and accommodation, so they can pass on this first-hand knowledge to clients when selling a Regent Seven Seas cruise.

Embarkation took place in Liverpool’s up-and-coming port, which looks set to become an exciting development for cruise ships in the years to come. Located within close proximity to Liverpool’s city centre, the covered walkways provide a sheltered link to the ships.

After all agents had boarded the ship without queuing, it was apparent that there was more space on board than on many other vessels. At 46,000 tons, she carries just 700 passengers, compared to P&O Cruises’ Artemis, for example, which at 45,000 tons sails with 1188 passengers.

Suite on board Voyager

Another of Voyager’s highlights is her all-suite accommodation. Ranging in size from 356 to 1,403 sq. ft including private balcony, she features the largest "lead-in" suites at sea. Our staff members were particularly impressed with the suites located at the aft of the ship, as none of these are overlooked. Each suite was furnished with a European king-size bed convertible to twins, Anichini linens and feather-down duvets, Anichini robes and cotton slippers, a separate sitting area and ultra-spacious marble bath with separate shower and full bathtub as standard. There was a walk-in closet with safe, luxurious bath products, hair dryer, interactive TV, DVD/CD player, and refrigerator which is replenished daily with soft drinks, beer and bottled water. We were impressed to learn that the majority of suites came with butler service. Some of these were wheelchair-accessible, and there were triple suites available too.

World renowned Carita Spa on board Voyager

A visit to the renowned Carita Spa, one of the most exclusive land-based spa operations in the world, was certainly a luxurious experience. Offering a combination of gentle pampering with an extensive range of physical regimens including health and revitalisation, the Carita Spa is designed as an indulgent escape from a busy lifestyle. Our staff were able to view each of the different treatment rooms, where highly trained beauty therapists, hairdressers and nail technicians briefly explained about the benefits of their treatments. We learned that with its unrivalled approach to spa and beauty, services are tailored uniquely to the needs of each individual using the expertise of their qualified staff.

The dining options on board Voyager are second-to-none. With an enviable choice of no less than four stunning gourmet restaurants, more than most ships of this size, she features one of only two Le Cordon Bleu establishments at sea (the other is on board Seven Seas Mariner). We were treated to an exquisite lunch in Signatures Restaurant where the food was truly out of this world, not to mention the height of conversation for the rest of the day!

Pool on board Voyager

Elsewhere on board we were given a grand tour of the full-size theatre, the swimming pool and whirlpools on the top deck, a jogging track and golf nets, the internet café, the art gallery and the casino, so as you can imagine there is no shortage of activity choices at your disposal. Having said that, with so many fewer passengers on board there were always plenty of quiet areas for those who prefer a more peaceful setting. To keep the mind exercised passengers can join the Circle of Interest programmes, to learn more about a preferred interest or topic. For exploring ashore, there was an excellent programme of intimate shore excursions tailored for small-group tours, enabling you to spend less time queuing and more time learning about your destination.

The ever-attentive staff really did surpass our expectations, as the high level of service we experienced was apparent at all times, yet surprisingly all onboard gratuities are also included in the fare. Voyager is an all-inclusive ship, so accommodation, beverages, entertainment, dining, butler service (in penthouse suites and above), and the use of the saunas, steam rooms and the gymnasium are all included in the fare.
